Västermalms strand

Västermalms Strand is an entirely new district in Kungsholmen, Stockholm. Index acquired the site and associated properties in 2005. Now ten years later, an all-new residential area with 600 new apartment is ready to be occupied by Stockholmers.

Västermalms Strand is a success, not least in terms of sales, with over 400 apartments already sold within the first 12 months. More than this, the Index Residence project has also demonstrated that highly creative housing developments can be built, in central Stockholm no less, that improve both the quality of life of the residents and enhance the city as a whole.

When Index Residence acquired the site, it was a forgotten part of Kungsholmen with tired industrial buildings. We have done this unique, waterfront location justice today. Västermalms Strand is now a vibrant city district for thousands of Stockholmers who live, shop and visit restaurants and cafés here. Along the waterfront are quayside walkways with plenty of services, daycare centre, plus good communication links to the rest of the inner city.
